Shamrock Rovers have added a new sponsor in the shape of financial services firm Pepper Asset Servicing.
The Irish arm of the Australian company will receive branding on the sleeve of team kits as well as on signage around Tallaght Stadium.  It will make a financial contribution to the club but no terms have been revealed.
Rovers is currently in the second of a two year sponsorship agreement with Seat.  That deal has this year been transferred to Seat Autodynamic, a showroom in Ballymount where the team helped to launch the new Seat Leon model at a customer event ahead of the start of the season.
It still retains previous main sponsor Woodies DIY with branding on the back of the shirt as well as the same Airtricity Premier League branding that all clubs wear.
Seat is part of the Volkswagen Group which has similar principal sponsor deals with Sligo Rovers, Shelbourne, Bohemians and Bray Wanderers during the current season.
Pepper Group was formed through a purchase of the loan book previously generated and managed by GE Capital and Woodchester.  It manages mortgage, auto and small business loans in the same way as Certus does for former customers of Bank of Scotland Ireland.
The company’s Australian parent has operated since 2001 and has businesses across Europe, Asia and new Zealand as well as in its home market.
The Irish arm was established in September 2012 and has offices in Dublin and Limerick where Shamrock Rovers played out their fifth draw in six games since the start of the season last weekend.
“Pepper is a young and growing company in Ireland, but we are grounded in a strong legacy of corporate citizenship through our parent company and we therefore appreciate the importance of making an active and meaningful contribution to the communities in which we operate,” said Paul Doddrell, chief executive of Pepper Ireland.
“This sponsorship with Shamrock Rovers signifies the start of our journey in terms of building and embedding the brand in this marketplace.”
“Shamrock Rovers is excited to become Pepper’s first sponsorship partner in Ireland,” added Rovers Chairman Jonathan Roche.
“We have developed a good relationship with Pepper since the partnership was first discussed and we’re looking forward to that growing through the 2013 season. We recognise the commitment Pepper has to its Irish operations and we feel this sponsorship deal is a great example of that. We’re delighted to have them on board.”
