In fact there are only four living Irishmen that have one in their possession so it is special to chat today with one of them, Fintan McCarthy, who brought the nation to their feet in Tokyo and is hoping to do so again in Paris.
Along the way he is a three time world champion but our conversation isn’t all about the boat.
