The Irish Government’s 2021 Budget will be announced on 13th October. This morning we were joined by three leading sports administrators to talk through the budget submission from the Federation of Irish Sport.
The ask is for a restating of Government commitment to increased funding each year to 2027 but how will that look in light of the impact on public finances, as well as public health of Covid-19.
There is also a call for a portion of the ‘Sugar Tax’ income to be set aside for physical activity programmes targeting obesity and for a similar proportion of the increased betting duty to be given over to sporting bodies for purposes of education.
