Sports Direct has opened a major new store in Cork as part of its brand elevation strategy. The 28,000 square foot store, situated in Mahon Point Shopping Centre, features the brand’s new premium design.
O’Neills, Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, ASICS and Puma are among the brands to be featured with specific sections dedicated to disciplines such as running, football and outdoor.
Sports Direct became the principal partner of Cork GAA earlier this year, in a partnership that sees the support of not just the men’s senior football and hurling teams, but also the Minor and Under 20 teams in both codes.
The new store will be the fourth it has in and around the city including in Blackpool, Ballincollig and Midleton.
Customers will receive €10 back in the form of a voucher with every Cork GAA home jersey purchased in store.
“This new location in Ireland demonstrates the businesses’ confidence in our ever-evolving elevation strategy alongside our commitment to Cork GAA,” said James France, Group Head of Property.
“We offer customers the very best brands and an unrivalled product choice, so we couldn’t be happier to open this up to the people of Cork.”
Sports Direct will also be opening a new store in Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge next month and will have an in-store experience
The store in Cork is now open to the public, with a customer in-store experience in the Mahon Point Store in the run-up to Christmas.
