The Pittsburgh Steelers are seeking Irish nominations to become their International Fan of the Year.
The NFL competition selects an outstanding international fan from each of the 32 NFL franchises and honours the winners at the 2025 NFL draft, which will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The International Fan of the Year title celebrates extraordinary fans globally who have inspired others with their passion for the game and have been a rallying force supporting their team across their family, friends and local community.
Each NFL team selects an International Fan of the Year from the countries the team is associated with through the NFL’s Global Markets Programme.
This year Irish Steelers fans can nominate themselves or someone else as the Steelers International Fan of the Year for the very first time.
The Steelers will also seek nominations from Mexico and Germany as part of the competition. Last year’s Steelers winner was Juan Soto from Morelia, Mexico, who proudly made the Steelers’ 2024 NFL Draft pick.
“We know the passion that exists for American Football and for the Steelers in Ireland, and we’re looking forward to seeing International Fan of the Year entries from across the island over the coming months,” said Dan Rooney, Steelers Director of Business Development and Strategy.
“It’s an incredible opportunity for Steelers fans to be recognized for their support of the team and for one fan to attend the NFL Draft, which is one of the biggest events in our sport.”
The contest’s submission window is now open and will remain open until 11:59 PM ET on November 15, 2024. All 32 international nominees will be announced on Feb. 24, 2025.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Watch Party, which was recently announced, will take place in Croke Park on 29th September. The event has once again sold out, less than 24 hours after going on sale.
The Steelers have hosted several fan and football educational events, including a Kicking Clinic in April of this year and two American Football Youth Camps in Cork and Belfast this June. The team also announced their fourth-round pick in this year’s NFL draft live from Co Kerry and partnered with Virgin Media Television to air three of the team’s pre-season games live and free-to-air for Irish fans for the first time.
