The first broadcast from the Listowel Racing Festival was way back in 2004 so this year will be the 19th year in a row for the Rásaí Lios Tuathail programme and TG4 will be back in The Kingdom this year for a 6 day broadcast starting on Monday the 18th straight through to Saturday the 23rd of September.

This year is the 165th edition of the Listowel Festival.

Rásaí BEO has gone from strength to strength and back in July broadcast live from both Bellewstown and Killarney for the first ever times, bringing the running total up to 17 racecourses of the 26 venues on the island of Ireland covered live.

Rásaí na Gaillimhe was broadcast on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th of August this year with all 8 races shown from Ballybrit on both days.

On Saturday August 12th the team were at The Curragh for their second broadcast of the year from the iconic Co. Kildare venue. The ‘Group 1 Phoenix Stakes’ was the first time Rásaí BEO had covered a Group 1 race live in either of the Flat or National Hunt codes and it was ‘Bucanero Fuerte’ that claimed The Keeneland Phoenix Stakes prize.

The Guinness Kerry National Handicap Steeplechase on Wednesday the 20th, with a prize fund of €200,000 is the racing highlight of the week with others including the €100,000 Ladbrokes Ireland Handicap Hurdle on Friday the 22nd.

Also on the Friday, fashion designer Don O’Neill and Eliza Fernández Zebo will be there on-site judging for the Best Dressed Lady competition.

The Rásaí Lios Tuathail programme will be hosted again by Seán Bán Breathnach with Mánus Ó Conghaile, Sarah Lynam and Evelyn Ní Ghriallais alongside them. Race commentary comes from Mícheál Ó Sé and in and around the parade ring Daragh Ó Conchúir and Meghann Scully will be mixing with all the owners, trainers, jockeys and punters in what promises to be another brilliant week in The Kingdom.
