The presence of Gonzaga in the Bank of Ireland Senior Schools Rugby Final added a dash of romance but it was business as usual for Blackrock College whose 50-21 win at the RDS secured a 70th title for the school.


It is 15 years since the Irish Women’s Rugby team lost their opening two games in the TikTok Six Nations. In that 2007 campaign, they also lost the third to England before bouncing back with wins against Scotland and Italy. They play Italy in Musgrave Park in Cork next Sunday.
