It is 15 years since the Irish Women’s Rugby team lost their opening two games in the TikTok Six Nations. In that 2007 campaign, they also lost the third to England before bouncing back with wins against Scotland and Italy. They play Italy in Musgrave Park in Cork next Sunday.

Rhasidat Adeleke added to a stunning year in her NCAA athletics career in the United States when breaking her own 200-metre Irish record competing in Texas. She has now qualified for the European and World Championships taking place later this year.

Sean Bán Breathnach has been a familiar voice on the airwaves of Irish sport over a career spanning 53 years, the vast majority with Radio na Gaeltachta. He hung up his microphone on the radio at least at Croke Park yesterday painting audio pictures of Kerry’s triumph in the Allianz League.
