Republic of Ireland international Sami Szmodic scored a first senior hat trick in Blackburn Rovers’ FA Cup win over Cambridge

While there was success for the U19 Irish men’s Cricket team in Zimbabwe

And the next generation of Irish Women Rugby Players were on show at Energia Park in the Celtic Challenge

There was a solid performance for Irish Sailor Eve McMahon at her World Championships

And finally, Dancing With the Stars returned to screens last night with a strong sporting interest including former Champion Jockey Davy Russell and Paralympic Sport legend Jason Smyth
