Tipperary put in a masterful performance to win the All Ireland Hurling Championship final yesterday in front of a capacity 82,016 crowd at Croke Park.
It raises the prospect of a unique double for sponsors Elverys Intersport who are also the main shirt sponsors of Mayo in the All Ireland Football Championship in two weeks time.
The last time any one county won the All Ireland double was 1990 but Cork did not have any shirt sponsors at that time.
The previous Double was achieved in 1990 by Tipperary.
Elverys began sponsoring Tipperary GAA in 2015. They became partners of their own ‘home’ county Mayo in 2011 and continued that deal after their management buyout in 2014.
