Toyota Ireland has announced a major new three-year partnership with the Camogie Association and the GAA/GPA, becoming the Official Car Partner to the country’s leading Gaelic games bodies. The announcement marks the latest step in Toyota’s long-standing commitment to Irish sport at all levels.

The partnership will support the development and promotion of Gaelic games across the island, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, community engagement and sustainability — values shared by Toyota and the sporting organisations involved.

As part of the agreement, Dublin Camogie captain Aisling Maher and Galway footballer John Maher have been named official Toyota brand ambassadors. Both athletes will drive the Toyota C-HR Hybrid, a model that reflects Toyota’s cutting-edge approach to design and low-emission technology.

Steve Tormey, CEO of Toyota Ireland, said the partnership reflects the company’s deep-rooted belief in sport as a force for positive change:

“Toyota has a proud history of supporting sport and athletes at both local and international levels. This new partnership is an investment in our national games and the inter-county players who are the heartbeat of the sport and role models for young children across the country.”

He added that many Toyota dealerships already support GAA clubs at a local level, and that this agreement enhances that grassroots connection while reinforcing Toyota’s “Built for a Better World” mission.

“By promoting inclusivity, community engagement, and supporting future generations through sport, we’re continuing our mission to improve lives and lead with purpose,” he added.

The partnership was warmly welcomed by the leadership of each organisation.

Brian Molloy, President of The Camogie Association, said Toyota’s support was a strong endorsement of the growing profile and importance of the women’s game:

“Having Toyota on board as a partner is a strong endorsement of the growing profile and significance of Camogie. We welcome Toyota’s support as we continue to develop and promote the game at every level.”

GAA President Jarlath Burns echoed those sentiments, highlighting the long-standing connection between Toyota and Gaelic games:

“Toyota has supported the GAA for generations, and their continued commitment is a testament to the strong bond they share with our communities. Their focus on sustainability and community mirrors our own values.”

Tom Parsons, CEO of the Gaelic Players Association, said the partnership represented a meaningful investment in the players themselves:

“This partnership with Toyota represents a meaningful investment into the GPA and will strengthen our ability to support inter-county players the length and breadth of the country. It’s great to have a brand like Toyota who recognise the unique role GPA members, both male and female, play in Irish society, on board.”

Toyota’s involvement in Irish sport spans several decades, supporting a diverse range of disciplines including athletics, rugby, para-sport, and cricket — always with a strong emphasis on both elite performance and grassroots engagement. This latest announcement continues that tradition, with the brand now fully embedded across Gaelic games for the next three years.
