Dublin GAA stars were on hand for the launch of the new YUKO scheme in Dublin’s IFSC yesterday, alongside Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross who said that “Low emissions, urban congestion and mobility are high on our agenda and we believe that the car sharing model is a credible solution to improving these important problems.”
YUKO is the Japanese word for “Let’s Go” and Ireland is the first country in which Toyota has launched such a programme.
It will initially roll-out in Dublin with 15 vehicles across three city centre locations. From today, YUKO will have five cars available in Smithfield/Kilmainham, and will shortly be rolling out in IFSC/Ringsend, and Ranelagh/Rathmines.
Yuko customers will pay a €50 sign-up fee and a €6 monthly subscription. All rentals will include free fuel for 50km of driving and parking will be free in all Dublin City Council parking spaces.
This is the third of a three year deal that Toyota signed with Dublin GAA in 2014. Overall sales have increased substantially during the period and the company provides a total of sixteen cars for use by players and management.
