Sport for Business can reveal this morning that today is the day for the announcement that Vodafone will be the new main commercial partner of Irish Rugby.
The deal will be announced formally at a special launch this afternoon at the Aviva Stadium but will also be made through social channels in an innovative campaign that begins at 0745 this morning and which will be streamed live at www.vodafone.ie/rugbylaunch
A giant replica of the new irish rugby shirt will be revealed strip by strip and fans who engage with the campaign on social media using the hashtag #TeamofUs will be in with a chance to win prizes including, we believe a trip to Chicago to see Ireland and the All Blacks in November.
The deal will be one of the largest sports deals ever in Ireland and will, in many ways define how sport and business interact over the coming years.
