RTE Allianz ParalympicsRTÉ is to broadcast over 30 hours of live and highlights coverage of the Paralympic Games in Rio this September.

It will also run four concurrent live streams on the RTE player and RTE.ie during the ten days of the games.

The deal which represents a seven fold increase in coverage on the national broadcaster from London 2012 was announced this morning as a partnership between RTÉ, Allianz and Paralympics Ireland.

Joanne Cantwell will anchor the nightly TV show with regular appearances from Daráine Mulvihill and Paralympic Games gold medallist Mark Rohan. The live programme will feature reports from Rio and live events as they happen.

Comprehensive coverage of the Irish team in action will be reported on across RTÉ television, radio and online news with reporters Evanne Ni Chuilinn, Darren Frehill, Adrian Eames and Cian McCormack live on the ground in Rio.
