Ireland and Munster scrum-half Conor Murray yesterday launched “Who We Are is How We Play”, the next phase of Vodafone Ireland’s “Team Of Us” sponsorship of the Irish rugby team.
This season’s development of the award-winning campaign from last year stays with the theme of the Irish rugby team being part of what we are and will focus on the childhood and growing up of four of Ireland’s top stars, one from each of the provinces.
Conor Murray, Rory Best, Tiernan O’Halloran and Tadhg Furlong all contributed a lot to the campaign, sifting through pictures of themselves growing up and doubtless bringing back a few memories for themselves.
“They may be big star professional athletes but they are actually a lot more like the rest of us than people imagine and that’s what we want to show off through social media, a new TV ad starting next week, outdoor advertising and more,” said Vodafone Sponsorship Manager Gerry Nixon speaking to us yesterday.
Next week we will carry a full interview with Gerry looking at the origins of the campaign and how Vodafone work with the Irish team. We will also reveal the new TV ad and associated video content that is currently being finished off in the edit suite.
Video and imagery will play a key part in the campaign and the first glimpses that we have seen suggest it will every bit as strong as last year’s, and perhaps even better.
Sport for Business will host over 20 events with our members in 2018 providing exclusive insight on the relationships that work best for sport and business.
What could we do together for your organisation?
