The Junior Lawn Tennis Championships of Ireland took place over the weekend, sponsored for the 15th consecutive year by leading Irish law firm William Fry.
Taking place at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club, Dublin 4, the championship is one of the oldest amateur sporting events in the world, featuring Ireland’s top junior tennis stars.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious events in youth tennis, the championship acts as a marker for budding professionals while also providing great exposure for emerging Irish talent. It is also one of the longest running junior tennis tournaments on record, having held its first championship in 1914.
The tournament culminated in the grand finals across eight events on Saturday, 24th August with a presentation of prizes to the winners on the day by [Mike Kemp], President of the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club and Liam McCabe, William Fry Chairperson.
“We are delighted to once again sponsor the Junior Lawn Tennis Championships of Ireland,” said Liam McCabe.
“At William Fry, we believe in the power of sports to bring communities together and inspire excellence especially at a junior level. This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting junior athletic talent and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.”
“The 2024 tournament has been really exciting and it is great to see the volume of new and emerging talent.”
