The Vision Sports Ireland Zero Limits Track Day returns to the Mondello Park circuit today and tomorrow.
This unique event provides blind and vision-impaired participants with an extraordinary opportunity to drive a dual-controlled road car around the Mondello Park circuit in the morning.
Then, in the afternoon, participants will experience the thrill of being a rally co-driver as they sit in for passenger laps around the track.
The two-day event is held in partnership with Motorsport Ireland and with the support of corporate partner Windsor Motor Group and Sport Ireland.
Having become an annual highlight for Vision Sports Ireland members, the Zero Limits Track Day has enabled 235 participants aged between 13 and 87 to enjoy this unforgettable experience to date.
We travelled down to experience it first-hand in 2022, and it was one of the most affirming and memorable events of the year.
With Windsor Motor Group’s continued support for the 2024 event, Vision Sports Ireland has the opportunity to increase participation and provide this unforgettable experience to more people.
This year, ticket preference was given to first-time participants, with 80% of 120 individuals due to take part in the two-day event doing so for the first time.
“Through Windsor’s generous support, we can once again collaborate with our partners and Sport Ireland in ensuring that a diagnosis of vision impairment or blindness should not get in the way of any person participating in or thinking about returning to sport and leisure opportunities, at any level,” said Aaron Mullaniff, CEO of Vision Sports Ireland.
“This year we are excited to welcome new participants who have not had the opportunity to experience the thrill of our Zero Limits Track Day previously.”
“We are looking forward to an action-packed, adrenaline-filled two days ahead.”
“We are honoured to partner with Vision Sport Ireland for their Zero Limits Track Days at Mondello Park for the fourth consecutive year,” added Brian Quinn, Head of Marketing at Windsor Motor Group.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to participate again, given the continued success of previous events. It’s incredible to see individuals’ improvements year on year, and we look forward to working alongside everyone again.”
The Zero Limits Track Day is open to blind or vision-impaired participants aged 13 and older.
Sport for Business will host its annual Sport for Social Good Conference in Dublin on Thursday morning, October 24th. This is one of many events planned for the remainder of 2024.
