Bord Gáis Energy and the GAA Museum have announced the return of the popular GAA Legends Tour for 2024 featuring some of the biggest names from the world of Gaelic Games.

The series was launched today at Croke Park by Cork’s Bríd Stack and Antrim’s Neil MacManus.

The Legends Tours, which have been supported by Bord Gáis Energy for over a decade, gives fans a chance to meet their GAA heroes and listen as they delve into some of the biggest moments from their careers.

Attendees will learn what it’s like inside the dressing room before a big game and what really happens during the halftime speech.

All Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tours include a trip to the GAA Museum, which vividly illustrates the story of Gaelic games from ancient times to the present day.

Featured exhibitions include the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy Cups, the official GAA Hall of Fame and the Interactive Games Zone where everyone can test their hurling and football skills.

This year’s tours start in May and GAA Legends that will lead a tour during this series include Neil McManus (Antrim), Michael Murphy (Donegal), Ursula Jacob (Wexford), Richie Hogan (Kilkenny), Ollie Baker (Clare), Tony Scullion (Derry), Tomás Ó’Sé (Kerry) and Bríd Stack (Cork).

We sat down today for two fascinating chats with McManus and Stack, covering a range of areas and we will be sharing them with you tomorrow on Sport for Business.

“It’s an honour to be here today with two Gaelic Games icons, Bríd Stack and Neil MacManus,” said Bord Gáis Energy Director Energy, Marketing & Data Catherine Lonergan.

“The Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tour Series is a fantastic opportunity for fans to meet some of the best players to have played Gaelic Games, as well as to see what goes on behind the scenes on the biggest days in Croke Park. Our support of the series stretches back to 2013 and we’re looking forward to another great year ahead.”

“Yet again, the list of players who have been assembled for the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Legends Tours is a who’s who, representing some of the greatest talent to have ever played our games,” added GAA President Jarlath Burns.

“They are men and women who lit up their sport, were fantastic ambassadors for Gaelic games and were an inspiration to a generation – not only in their own counties, but all over Ireland. Our great games produced great players and I look forward to another successful series and have no doubt that the public will relish the opportunity to relive these great careers and walk in their footsteps at the iconic Croke Park.”

“The annual Legends Tour series is always a highlight here at the GAA Museum, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Bord Gáis Energy for another year,” concluded Museum Director, Niamh McCoy.
