Virgin Media Television are set to host Thursday night League of Ireland football for the first time this May as part of the next three confirmed live TV broadcasts for the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division on Virgin Media Two.

Drogheda United’s trip to the RSC to face Waterford will move to Thursday night on 23rd May while league leaders Shelbourne visit Derry City and St. Patrick’s Athletic in the two other live TV fixtures on Virgin Media Television.

Earlier this year, VMTV announced it was doubling the number of live League of Ireland games in 2024, with 14 games now televised across the season.

There was live coverage last night with leaders Shelbourne holding on to top spot in the League after a 0-0 draw with reigning champions Shamrock Rovers.

Rovers, Derry City and Bohemians are all now on 19 points, three behind Shelbourne.

As part of the broadcast announcement, Derry City v Shelbourne at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium will now be played at 19:45 on Monday, 6 May.

The confirmed TV broadcasts on Virgin Media Two next month in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division are as follows

• Derry City vs Shelbourne – Monday, 6 May, 19:45
• St Patrick’s Athletic vs Shelbourne – Monday, 20 May, 19:45
• Waterford vs Drogheda United – Thursday, 23 May, 19:45
