Sixty clubs from across Ireland will travel to Naomh Mearnóg in Dublin on Saturday for the 2026 O’Neills All-Ireland Club 7-a-side competitions.

The tournament will once again provide the opening act to the biggest weekends in the Ladies Gaelic Football calendar, taking place on the eve of the TG4 All-Ireland Junior, Intermediate and Senior Championship finals at Croke Park.

Senior, Intermediate and Junior national titles will be decided during a full day of competition at the Portmarnock club, combining elite-level club football with the strong social and community atmosphere that is a big part of the annual event.

O’Neills is entering its third year as title sponsor of the Club 7s, having first taken on the partnership in 2024.

The sponsorship builds on a long-established relationship between the Irish sportswear manufacturer and Ladies Gaelic Football, with O’Neills supplying playing and leisurewear to a significant number of inter-county and club teams throughout the country.

The Club 7s provides O’Neills with a valuable point of connection across the breadth of the LGFA club network. It also places the brand at the centre of a weekend that brings together players, officials, volunteers, supporters and clubs from every level of the game.

Defending Senior champions Donaghmoyne of Monaghan will return to Naomh Mearnóg looking to retain their title.

They are expected to face strong opposition, including St Ergnat’s, Moneyglass of Antrim, who reached the 2025 AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Championship final.

The level of interest in the 2026 tournament reflects the enduring appeal of the shortened format, with 60 clubs securing places across the three grades.

“We’re really looking forward to our 2026 O’Neills All-Ireland Club 7s at Naomh Mearnóg,” said LGFA President Trina Murray.

“It’s great to have O’Neills on board again for a third year as sponsors of this prestigious annual event.

“Ahead of our TG4 All-Ireland Finals, the O’Neills All-Ireland Club 7s are a perfect appetiser, and keenly contested in their own right.

“Clubs from across the country will descend upon Naomh Mearnóg aiming for coveted national titles, and while there’s a huge element of fun and camaraderie involved on the day, the football is also extremely competitive.”

Murray also thanked Naomh Mearnóg for hosting the event, alongside the competition organisers and match officials who will oversee the tournament.

“I hope to see the many people who are making the trip to Naomh Mearnóg at Croke Park on Sunday, too, for our TG4 All-Ireland Finals,” she added.

O’Neills Financial Controller James Towell said the competition reflected the shared commitment of the company and the LGFA to growing the game at every level.

“We’re delighted to once again support the LGFA All-Ireland Club 7s Tournament,” he said.

“It’s a fantastic occasion that brings together clubs from across the country, showcasing the talent, skill and dedication that make Ladies Gaelic Football so special in the lead-up to the TG4 All-Ireland Finals.

“Our longstanding partnership with the LGFA reflects our shared commitment to the continued growth of the game, from grassroots through to the highest level.”

For the LGFA, the Club 7s serves a number of purposes beyond the trophies awarded on the day.

It gives clubs from different counties and provinces the opportunity to compete against one another on a national stage, creates an additional focal point for supporters travelling to Dublin and extends the TG4 All-Ireland Finals from a single matchday into a full weekend celebration.

It is also a valuable demonstration of the scale and reach of the club game, with the 60 participating teams bringing significant numbers of players, coaches, families and supporters to the capital.

The O’Neills All-Ireland Club 7s will take place at Naomh Mearnóg on Saturday, August 1, with the three TG4 All-Ireland Championship finals following at Croke Park on Sunday, August 2.
