The Ladies Gaelic Football Association has announced Dooctor.ie as its new Official Medical and Healthcare Partner.
The partnership will see Dooctor.ie support LGFA players, clubs and members through a range of services including rapid medical access, injury management, health screening, scan referral pathways, cardiac screening, blood testing, online doctor consultations and health education initiatives.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations, with Dooctor.ie also supporting the LGFA National Volunteer of the Year Awards. The company sponsored the 2025 awards, which were presented at Croke Park in January.
LGFA President Trina Murray said the partnership was a “natural progression” and reflected the Association’s focus on health, wellbeing and player welfare.
“At the LGFA, the health, wellbeing and welfare of our members is a top priority, and we are proud to align with an organisation that shares those same values,” she said.
Dooctor.ie, which describes itself as one of Ireland’s fastest-growing healthcare providers, operates a nationwide network of more than 15 walk-in clinics alongside online doctor consultations.
CEO and Founder Dr Hafiz Ali said the partnership would support athletes both on and off the pitch.
“Our ambition goes beyond treating illness. We want to help people stay healthy through prevention, early detection, education, and easy access to medical care,” he said.
Thomas Browne, Director of Dooctor.ie, said rapid access to diagnosis and treatment would be a key element of the partnership, particularly for injured players.
“When a player is injured, turnaround time is paramount,” he said. “Getting the right diagnosis quickly, arranging the appropriate scan when required, and putting a clear plan in place can make a major difference to a player’s recovery and return-to-play journey.”
The partnership will also explore ways to improve access to healthcare for clubs and communities throughout Ireland, with a focus on prevention, early diagnosis, recovery and long-term wellbeing.
LGFA members will be able to access a dedicated healthcare pathway through Doctor. i.e., as part of the new agreement.
