Sport for Business has long been a strong advocate of parity of esteem for Women in sport. The launch earlier this week of the Women’s Gaelic Players Association and the strong and growing commercial and media support for women’s sport is indicative that Ireland is quickly following the rest of the world in seeing Women’s sport as worthy of full respect.
We thought long and hard about this post but in the end decided that publishing the Victoria’s Secret Superbowl ad would show more about how far perception has come since the days of the Lingerie Bowl.
Yes they are supermodels, yes it is an ad targeted at men ahead of St Valentines Day but when it airs towards the end of the game in Arizona on the night of February 1st it will show women playing sport, being active and being in charge.  Oh and fully clothed in sports gear as opposed to Lingerie…
