Sport is the very essence of innovation. When William Webb Ellis picked up a football and ran, rugby was born. At Nike in Oregon, Adidas in Germany and media companies all over the world the search is on for the next big idea.
Sport for Business has grown from an idea in the back of one mind three years ago to a strong network of leaders now from across every sport and every major business with an interest in sport in Ireland.
We have created a business and are helping to make a difference in areas that matter.
In 2015 we are happy to lend our support to a competition to find Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year. It’s worth a look if you are aged 18-30, or know someone who is, as there is a €2 million prize fund to get the right idea off the ground.
The closing date for entries for IBYE 2015 is at the end of this month and there will be a €50,000 prize from the winner of each local enterprise office around the country.
There are three categories of pre trading, up to 24 months and over 24 months in business. There will be plenty of inspiring ideas out there. It could be in social media, in wearable technology, in health and fitness or in a brand new area.
This may be the funding and the spotlight needed to bring your idea to the heights it deserves.
In advance of entry Sport for Business will offer mentor advice on your sports related entry, helping you to position it in the best possible light.
Send us an outline of your business idea in less than 500 words and we will give you a review of how to position it so as to give you the best chance of success.
It’s a service we are happy to offer as we believe in the power of youth, the strength of innovation and the courage it takes to try with something you believe in.
