The Sport Summit as part of the Web Summit is back again in 2015. It will take place at Dublin’s RDS on November 2nd and 3rd and promises to draw an influential sporting crowd to what has become one of the world’s largest and most successful technology gatherings.
Tour de France winner Chris Froome and former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van der Saar are among the initial headline speakers unveiled yesterday. They will be joined by Nigel Eccles of US Fantasy Gaming giant Fanduel and Matt Higgins CEO of RSE Ventures who are a major investor in sports technology and Vice Chairman of the Miami Dolphins.
Dessie Farrell of the Gaelic Players Association will be part of the home team of speakers and Sport for Business is aware that other panels of high level speakers that will crossover the worlds of sport, technology and business are in the pipeline.

Founder Paddy Cosgrove spoke at the time about how technology was disrupting so many industries and that there was a natural synergy in bringing them together.
Sport for Business has a history with the event being one of the initial start ups featured at the Dublin launch of the 2012 event when it was only a fraction the size it is now.
There is a great egalitarian feel to the marathon of events and networking opportunities and while the amount of kilometres covered in getting to see all the participants and speakers would put the highest spec fitbit to the pin of its collar, that is not a bad complaint to have about something taking place right on our doorstep.
