We will be inviting leaders from across sport, the tourism industry and those with an interest in the subject to discuss a range of issues guided by the Government’s new Tourism Leadership Group.

Sport is to be represented on that Group by Cormac O’Donnchú, founder of Experience Gaelic Games, who will be among those attending the event.

The aim of that group is to implement the objectives set out in the tourism policy document ‘People, Place & Policy; Growing Tourism to 2025’ which was launched in March.

In the shorter term the Group will be tasked with drawing up a Tourism Action Plan for the period up to 2018.

The Tourism Leadership Group is holding an intensive series of meetings with key tourism stakeholders over the coming months. This event will be one of the ways in which those involved in sport and sports tourism can make sure their voice is heard with the greatest clarity.
