The British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) has agreed a sponsorship deal with Betfair.  The betting exchange has extended its involvement with the sport through becoming the official gaming partner for the association and supporting both the men’s and women’s teams as they prepare for this Summers London Olympics.
Betfair sponsored the GB Amateur Boxing Championships at York Hall in London in November 2011.  Boxers will appear in promotional videos and at events for Betfair.  The company produced a short video to launch the sponsorship and will be making use of the association through social media as the Games approach.
Irish boxers are currently competing at the final Olympic Qualifying event in Turkey where Paddy Barnes, Adam Nolan, David Oliver Joyce and Tommy McCarthy have made it through to the quarter final stage.
Katie Taylor will be looking to qualify for the Women’s event at next month’s AIBA World Championships in the Chinese city of Qinhuangdao.
The Irish Daily Star supported the Irish National Championships held earlier this year.
