Current Olympic champions Hungary will take part, as will current European champions Serbia, Great Britain, Germany, Croatia and Montenegro.
This strong line-up is expected to attract visitors from each of the countries who may have missed out on Olympic tickets which are completely sold out for a few weeks later.
“This is another example of Ireland benefiting directly from the Olympics and adds to the number of Olympic athletes from 13 countries who have already decided to train in Ireland ahead of the London Games,” said Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring.
“It is incredible to have all these Olympians, these world champions, at the peak of their sport, in Dublin for four days, and we are proud to have made it happen,” added Bobby Nolan of the Irish Water Polo Association. Swim Ireland is providing financial and administrative support to the event, and while no sponsors are presently listed it is hoped that there will be commercial support for the event.
The National Aquatic Centre has hosted training camps for the Korean Swim team and the USA Synchronised Swimming team in recent weeks.
