Special Olympics Ireland National Collection Day“Disability should not mean inability.”

Those are the key words spoken by Brian O’Callaghan from Limerick in this video released to show some of the inspirational work that goes on behind the scenes at Special Olympics Ireland.

If sport is about one thing it should be about friendship. The breaking down of barriers that might otherwise exist through being ‘different’ or from another circle of life can be shed in an instant through the joy of competition.

The Special Olympics Ireland National Collection Day. takes place on Friday, April 22nd.

The sport charity needs 3,000 volunteers, to take to the streets in every community throughout Ireland to help them raise €650,000 in just 24 hours.
