Yesterday marked 100 days to go until the start of the Women’s Rugby World Cup taking place in Dublin and Belfast in August.
Ireland will host Australia on the evening of the opening day, August 9th, at Belfield and ticket sales are reported to be very strong.
The organisers have been conducting an extensive nationwide tour with the Rugby World Cup trophy and have already taken in over 100 clubs and schools covering 8,500 kilometres in the process.
“With 100 days to go to the kick-off of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, the final preparations are well underway for what is going to be a fantastic tournament and a great spectacle of women’s sport,” said Tournament Director Garrett Tubridy.
“The trophy tour events and festivals, which have been hosted in clubs and schools throughout the county, show the level of excitement that is out there, and we are delighted to have sourced a small number of additional tickets for previously sold-out pool fixtures. But those looking to secure tickets, should act fast.”
Aon, Heineken, Land Rover and Aldi are all on board as Official Partners of the tournament while there has also been strong support from Dublin City Council, Belfast City Council, Failte Ireland, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Northern Ireland Tourism.
