Life Style Sports has grabbed an exclusive march on rivals with the announcement that it is to be the only retailer in Ireland where people will be able to actually try on a pair of the re-launched iconic adidas Predator football boot.

“Having run a teaser campaign over the last 7 days and been inundated with hundreds of customer messages asking whether Predator was finally returning to the adidas line up, we’re delighted to finally announce that this boot is returning to our Life Style Sports Boot Room zones,” said Shireen McDonagh, Category Marketing Manager at Lifestyle Sports.

“From the memorable Beckham goal from the halfway line against Wimbledon to Damien Duff’s iconic bow during the Saudi Arabia game in the 2002 World Cup or even Jonny Wilkinson’s 2003 World Cup drop goal, this boot has a serious pedigree.”

“What’s equally as exciting for us as a brand is that Life Style Sports Boot Room will be the only place customers will be able to try on the new 18+ Predator.”

The technical specification for the boots would appear to be like a brochure from NASA with press material released yesterday describing it as “coming in both soft and firm ground plates, featuring a black, red and gold colourway and including an updated Primeknit SOCKFIT COLLAR, engineered to naturally expand to the foot’s shape while ensuring a supportive fit.”

There is plenty of science to back up the €150 price tag on the boots which return to the Adidas Range after a hiatus of two years following a previous run of two decades at the top.

“When designing the Predator 18+ we wanted to create the most innovative boot on the market while staying true to the very ethos of what made the Predator such an iconic boot,” said Sam Handy, VP of Design for adidas Football.

“We wanted to create a boot for those players who control the game through a killer touch or defence-splitting pass. The new Predator will provide athletes such as Paul Pogba and Dele Alli with the tools they need to maximise their own creativity.”
