The capacity at the ground will increase to 26,267 and will be a complete sell-out.
The Esat and West stands are already sold out with over 22,000 tickets gone a little less than two weeks out.
The additional seating is being installed in the North and South Terraces.
The demand for Munster Rugby is as high as it has ever been. The attendance at Thomond Park for Saturday’s clash with Leicester last weekend was 23,503, the biggest across the weekend of top European action and tickets are already shifting fast for the Guinness Pro14 clash with Connacht on January 6th.
The matchday experience at Thomond Park has been enhanced this season with the addition of a second big screen at the South Terrace end of the ground.
Recent clashes between Leinster and Munster have been a little undercooked in terms of pre-match build up with management teams suggesting that it was the big European fixtures that were the main priority.
With both sides lying second in their respective conferences of the Pro14 however, the desire to finish top and secure home advantage going into the knock out stages might add a little bite if any was really needed for this traditional Christmas fixture.
