Deloitte has good reason to cheer Ireland’s Olympic effort as one if it’s trainee accountants will be on the team.  Claire Bergin works on the company’s audit financial services team but has been given the opportunity to train full time ahead of the games and was selected as part of the 4×400 metre relay team.
Bergin is set to make history as the first ever Irish female athlete to compete at both a Summer and Winter Olympics.  She was a member of the women’s bobsleigh team that competed at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.
“To get confirmation of our qualification was fantastic and to have had the opportunity to have trained full time in the year prior to the Olympics was a real boost,” said Bergin.  I am extremely grateful to Deloitte for supporting me on this adventure and am really looking forward to the whole Olympic experience – it’s a dream come true.”
