Paralympics Ireland has signed a new kit deal with Under Armour’s Teamwear Partner Dreamsport.
The Irish team that will compete at the World Para Swimming Allianz Championships in London this September will be the first Irish Paralympic team to compete in the new Under Armour team kit.
That team will be strengthened by the addition of Amy Marren who will make her debut appearance for Ireland as part of an eight-person team.
Marren has previously represented Great Britain at the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 where she won a Bronze Medal.
She will be joined on Team Ireland by European Gold and Bronze medallist, Ellen Keane and European Silver Medallist, Nicole Turner. Patrick Flanagan, who was agonisingly close to winning a European medal in Dublin last year, returns to the team along with Jonathan McGrath, Ailbhe Kelly, Barry McClements and Sean O’Riordan.
The World Para Swimming Allianz Championships will represent the first opportunity that team Ireland will have to secure slots at the Paralympic Games that are being held in Tokyo next year. The Gold and Silver medal winners in each event will automatically secure slots for their nation at the 2020 Paralympic Games.
The deal with Under Armour will include the team kit that will be worn by Team Ireland at the Paralympic Games in both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
“Under Armour is a premium brand that is amongst the best-regarded sportswear suppliers in the world,” said Paralympics Ireland CEO Miriam Malone.
“Our Irish athletes will strive for the highest performance levels safe in the knowledge that they are wearing kit that was designed for that very purpose. I look forward to working closely with Under Armour and their team wear partner, Dreamsport.”
“We are delighted with the partnership up to and including Paris 2024. With the shared vision of high performance, we look forward to working with Paralympics Ireland and the Athletes to deliver best in class apparel,” added Bruce Wood, Head of Dreamsport Ireland.
Paralympics Ireland also has key commercial partnerships with Allianz, Toyota, FloGas and Citi.
