
Should Mick McCarthy’s men overcome Slovakia in Bratislava RTÉ will also show the play-off final away against the winner of Bosnia and Herzegovina v Northern Ireland on Tuesday 31 March.
Darragh Maloney will be joined by Liam Brady and Didi Hamann for live coverage of the semi-final from Bratislava with George Hamilton and Ronnie Whelan on commentary and Tony O’Donoghue reporting from the Slovakian capital.
Kick-off is at 7.45 pm and with a winner needed on the night, there is the possibility of extra-time and penalties a possibility.
RTÉ2FM will have full coverage from Bratislava in an extended Game On from 6 pm to 10 pm with Kenny Cunningham alongside Adrian Eames on commentary.
RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player will also have live coverage of the Irish Women’s Euro 2021 Qualifiers at home against Greece this evening, Thursday, March 5th and away against Montenegro on Wednesday, March 11th at 2.30 pm.
In the lead up to the game in Bratislava RTÉ One and RTÉ Player will screen The Boys in Green telling the story of the greatest period in the history of Irish football, as the achievements of Jack Charlton’s team put Irish football firmly on the global map.
Beginning next Monday 9th March, the two-part series features contributions from an all-star cast of Irish football heroes, including Tony Cascarino, John Aldridge, Mick McCarthy, Ronnie Whelan, David O’Leary, Jason McAteer, Kevin Sheedy and Stephen Staunton.
The Boys In Green tells the story of a nation coming of age on the football field and off it. We hope it will provide a degree of inspiration for another generation.
Niall Quinn will be joining us alongside Dublin Lord Mayor Tom Brabazon and a host of others for the Sport for Business Football Breakfast taking place at the Aviva Stadium two weeks from today, on March 19th.
