Our last Round Table of the year will take place at the European Headquarters of Google on Thursday December 13th.  Members’ and some special guests will consider how Social media such as You Tube, Facebook and Twitter has utterly changed the ways in which fans engage in following their favourite sports and in how sponsoring brands activate their relationships in the world of sport.
We are running a short survey on the use and engagement of the Sport for Business Community with social media.  You can complete the survey here, it should take less than one minute and we will publish the results as part of Thursday’s Round Table.
We will be looking at areas including how social media is changing the way fans engage with sport and sponsors; how sports organisations can best harness the power of new media in communication with their own membership and how business can develop new models to tap into the fan channels that are growing up around teams and sports.
The session will run from 0900 to 1030 and is likely to be of great benefit to those attending, as well as to the wider Sport for Business Community, as have been the previous events on Alcohol sponsorship, Women in sport, Children’s fitness, employment, technology, betting and broadcasting.
The Round Table is now full but if you would like to be added to a reserve list in the event of anybody not being able to make it over the coming days please contact us today with a brief note of the contribution you feel you could make to the discussion.
Next week we will publish a short survey on the use of social media within Irish sport and we hope that as many of those with an interest in the subject will be able to make a contribution through that.
