The European Sponsorship Awards will take place in virtual format over the next two evenings and there is a huge level of Irish engagement across the 21 categories.
The three sports sponsorship awards will be presented today and we will be carrying updates online and on social media this evening from 5 PM @Sportforbusine on Twitter.
Energia’s The Power Behind Irish Rugby flies the flag in the < €1M category while fellow Sport for Business members Vodafone, for it’s Front Row partnership in England; the European Tour for two different campaigns with Loch Lomond Whiskies and Tata; and Intersport for its ‘Not Bad For a Girl’ campaign are among the opposition.
In the €1M to €5M AIB’s #TheToughest campaign will carry our hopes.
In the €5M+ category Sport for Business member AIG is in the running with it’s All Blacks partnership.
In the Sports category for Purpose Led Sponsorship, Irish campaigns backing sport for Women and girls are well represented with 20X20, AIG, Electric Ireland’s Game Changers and Intersport’s Not Bad for Girl campaigns all in the running, as well as Toyota’s Parasport initiatives.
Electric Ireland and Pieta House are also nominated in the special category of Best Ethical Response to Covid-19.
Lidl Ireland, SuperValu and RTÉ are among the four Irish shortlisted campaigns for best Media sponsorship while An Post for the Irish Book Awards are up for the best Arts and Culture Award.
It promises to be a busy night, if without the Irish celebrations in the room that we have enjoyed in recent years, and then there is still a host more to look forward to tomorrow.
