KPMG has announced the launch of a new Performance Series with Irish professional golfer Leona Maguire.
Maguire, who goes into the second Major Championship of the season this week, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club, shares relatable tips for those in other fields, including business, as to how she maintains focus, drive and the mental tools she uses to stay at the top of her game.
Hitting a rich vein of form, Maguire enters this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, fresh from a second-place finish at the Meijer Classic where she shot a six-under-par, 66 in the final round.
The Championship gets underway on Thursday, 24th June, and will see Maguire line up with 156 of the world’s best golfers including defending champion Sei Young Kim and world No.1 Jin Young Ko. In addition to the Major title, a purse of $4.3 million dollars is on the line at the KPMG sponsored Championship.
To mark the occasion and their ongoing support of Leona Maguire, KPMG have released the first of the videos from the Performance Series. The short film provides insight into Maguire’s mentality and her pursuit to build on her world-leading amateur career, to reach the top of the professional game.

Throughout the series, Maguire shares what she has learnt from high-performance sport and how it might translate to business and everyday life.
Subsequent videos will cover topics that are applicable for all with Maguire outlining her thoughts on goal setting, mentality, routine as well as work-life balance. We will carry each of them here to build a full picture of the series.
KPMG have sponsored Maguire since she turned professional in 2018. Prior to that, she represented Ireland at the 2016 Olympic Games, led the Great Britain & Ireland team to victory in the 2016 Curtis Cup, and won the 2017 Ladies British Open Amateur Championship.
Maguire also holds the worked record for being the longest No.1 on the women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking holding top spot for 135 weeks between 2015 – 2018. Since turning pro, she has graduated from the Symetra Tour with two tournament wins and became a fully-fledged LPGA Tour professional in 2019.
“I am really grateful to KPMG for their support of me and for female golf,” she said.
“I am really looking forward to building on my form last week heading into this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Golf and working to perform consistently amongst the world’s best golfers means I am consistently learning.”
“I know from balancing work and study prior to turning professional that the lessons learnt on and around the golf course have many potential applications. I am delighted to be able to team up with KPMG to tell some of the things and processes I find useful to incorporate into my daily routine to help me perform under pressure. I hope that they may be of use to others.”
“We’re dedicated to investing in young, talented people and supporting them in fulfilling their potential,” added KPMG Partner Emer McGrath.
“In this series, Leona Maguire shares many invaluable insights that can be applied not just in sport, but in many different scenarios where people have goals and ambitions, both big and small, that they’d like to achieve.”
