It has been revealed this morning that Neal Cummins has been appointed Head of Communications for Sky Ireland.
Cummins joins the broadcaster having been Head of Sport at global communications agency FleishmanHillard.
In his role there he was a driving force in growing FleishmanHillard’s sport portfolio and managed large sponsorships including Cadbury’s partnership with Premier League and SuperValu’s GAA Football sponsorship.
He has over 13 years of experience in the communications and media industry and has worked with leading brands in the FMCG, technology, financial, media, agriculture, and legal sectors. He is experienced in crisis and issue management, advising senior executives on their communications.
Previous to his latest role in FleishmanHillard, Neal was Head of Communications for UTV Ireland responsible for the launch of the channel, the rollout of home-grown and acquired programming, managing on-screen talent as well as issues management and public affairs engagement.
As Head of Communications, he will lead the PR and communications strategy for Sky and NOW in Ireland.
“I am delighted to welcome Neal to the Sky Ireland team,” said Sky Ireland Managing Director JD Buckley.
“Neal’s vast experience in the media and communications landscape in Ireland will help to ensure Sky continues to grow in Ireland; connecting more people to the best entertainment, sports, news, arts and to our own award-winning original content.”
Having worked alongside Cummins on a number of projects and campaigns down the years we can vouch for this being a top-flight appointment and we wish him the best of luck in the years to come.
