COP26 is dominating the media as world leaders and activists gather in Scotland to find a way to tackle the climate crisis.
In many ways, it is a challenge that can be met to the greatest effect by small individual changes as much as grand gestures but leadership is about showing the way and making it easier to do so.
The sporting world has become much more familiar with sustainability as we will highlight in a new series over the coming months, helping shine a light on what our network of members is doing to ‘put their hands up.’
Athletes have a strong influential voice and are increasingly using it to good effect in contributing to matters like this.
A group of Olympians and Paralympians have come together virtually, supported by the IOC and IPC, in a video address to the leaders at Cop26, which features above as our Daily Video.
There are no Irish athletes but there are plenty of familiar faces from Tom Daley and Eliud Kipchoge to Hannah Cockroft and Emma McKeown.
Cop26 is the Olympic Games of Climate Summits. Their voice is one that we can all support.
