Meath Local Sports Partnership in partnership with Meath County Council and Sport for Business member Impact 3 Zero, has announced its ‘Project Long Game’ campaign.
Aimed at promoting sustainability through the county’s grassroots sports clubs, the campaign will kick off on Saturday, January 28th with a launch event at the Solstice Arts Centre in Navan, Co. Meath.
At the launch, there will be a number of leading local and international voices to discuss and show how clubs can build healthier, more sustainable futures.
Some of the key areas of club management that can benefit from a more advanced and detailed look at sustainable development will be the driving of increased participation, the reduction of costs, better sponsorships, community support and environmental responsibility.
Among the speakers on the day will be Russell Seymour, CEO of the British Association for Sustainable Sport, Bohemian FC Climate Justice Officer Sean McCabe, and triple Irish Olympian and sustainability advocate Natalya Coyle.
This is a free event and is open to all with an interest in how sport can help drive meaningful social and environmental change.
Anyone interested can register now at www.projectlonggame.ie to receive an event invitation.
Sport for Business Perspective:
Sustainability is a crucial element of how sport can not only plan for its own future but play a leading part in society’s approach to doing things in the right way. It is a broad canvas and this project with the Meath Local Sports Partnership promises to place a positive context around what can be achieved and how.
