This Wednesday and Thursday, March 29th to 30th the One-Zero Conference will bring the global sports business and sports media to Dublin in a way that has never happened before.
We are excited to be part of what will be a special occasion across three days of activity in Dublin and Limerick but the centrepiece is a day of conversation, discussion, and high-level network building at the Aviva Stadium.
One of the keynote sessions will be with Allison Giorgio, Vice President of Marketing with the Puma Group. She will be interviewed by Sport for Business CEO Rob Hartnett on stage at the Headquarters of William Fry in Dublin during the opening session on Wednesday evening, March 29th and we caught up on a call to Boston over the weekend for a taste of what we can expect from Allison.
Give us a 10-cent tour of where PUMA is at the moment.
PUMA continues to keep a laser focus on eight strategic priorities: brand heat, product ranges that are right for our consumers, a comprehensive offer for women, quality of our distribution, speed and efficiency of our organizational infrastructure, re-entry into Basketball to improve our position in North America and a focus on local relevance as well as sustainability.
The marketplace is challenging, and we will continue to face a high degree of geopolitical, macroeconomic and commercial uncertainty however the exciting product range for 2023 and the positive feedback from retail partners as well as consumers make us confident for the mid and long-term success and continued growth of PUMA.
75 years young as a brand, what is the biggest item on your radar for 2023?
Elevating our brand strength – through innovative product, strong distribution and industry game changing marketing partnerships and approaches.
What do you imagine it might be for 2024?
Staying the course, with a focus on leveraging all the global and regional sports moments. 2024 will be a Year of Sports for PUMA.
What’s your favourite sporting moment to have witnessed live?
Attending the World Cup finals in 1994 in California and seeing Brazil beat Italy in PK’s. The stadium was electric!
And from your childhood?
I played a lot of sports as a kid including Soccer, Lacrosse, Track & Field, Tae-Kwon-Do and Dance, and many of my fondest memories are simply being part of a team.
I loved the camaraderie that came from playing team sports, the feeling of us all working together to get a W or supporting each other during the L’s, a lot of character is built through playing sports.
What are you looking forward to most about coming to Dublin?
Seeing the sights, tasting the great local food and pints and getting the opportunity to network with all the great attendants at the One-Zero conference.
The opening session will include discussions with Keily Blair of Only Fans, Allison Giorgio of Puma, Gordon D’Arcy and three-time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots Lonie Paxton, all of whom will be networking with attendees after the session.
