We had the privilege to be at the starting point this morning for the second Rory’s Miles to Mayo walk with Rory Best.
Over the coming days he will walk 300 kilometres via Kildare and Limerick to what will be the site of Ireland’s second Daisy Lodge in Cong County Mayo.
The room was filled with many who will join Rory along the way, we went up in the lift at the Aviva Stadium with Andy Farrell and Paul Mannion. Rob Kearney was there as well as Enda Kenny and the walk will pick up plenty more support along the way.
As part of the morning the Cancer Fund for Children played Adam’s Story. Adam Watson was one of the children who they and Rory helped on his cancer journey.
If you have the time please watch it and count your blessings. If you don’t try to make it over the coming days. Leanne Sheill of SSE Airtricity was sitting beside me and summed it up through tears saying how it puts everything into perspective.
This is a special event for a special cause, deserving of our support. You can donate at www.rorysmiles2mayo.com
