FAI National DrawThe FAI has launched a national draw with all proceeds from the sale of tickets being retained by the clubs or regional associations that sell them.
There is a total prize fund of €200,000 on offer and tickets, which clubs can order centrally from the FAI website will cost €10.  There is an administrative charge of between €1 and €2 depending on the number of tickets bought by each club but everything earned on top of that is kept by the clubs for their own development.
This means that a club selling 200 tickets to its own players, members and supporters would make a minimum €1,650 which would make a big difference to many smaller clubs with no risk and little organisational work required.
The FAI has also brought in its principal sponsors with Ford, Aviva, 3, Airtricity, DHL, Nivea and others involved in the donation of prizes for the draw.
These range from a new Ford Fiesta, through to a box at an international match to tickets to the 2014 Champions’ League Final in Lisbon and free electricity for a year.
This is the first time that the FAI has run a national draw on this scale and the prizes will be distributed nationally as well as across four different regions – Dublin, Rest of Leinster, Munster and Connaught and Ulster.
Tickets can be ordered now with sales continuing up until the end of October and the draw being made at the For FAI Cup Final on November 3rd.
It is a good initiative with the Governing Body being seen as providing a concrete means of assistance to clubs that would otherwise not have access to the same range of prizes.
