Róisín Ní Riain stormed to victory in her third final of the European Para Swimming Championships last night, claiming her second gold medal, and third in all in Madeira.
In a stacked 100M Backstroke final that featured the Paralympic champion Ní Riain held her own to take the top spot.
“That was a pretty good swim, definitely some mistakes were made there but this is the kind of competition we come to that we get to learn from,” she said. “There’s some cleaning up to do but hopefully that will come.”
She still has three events left and is back in the pool this morning for her 400m freestyle heat where she will attempt to reach yet another final.
In the evening session, Nicole Turner and Dearbhaile Brady will face off once again in the 50m freestyle final.
The 2024 European Para Swimming Championships will be streamed live on the Para Swimming Facebook Page and Paralympics YouTube Channel.
