Ladies European Tour player, Lauren Walsh, has signed up with Carton House as their official touring professional.
The venue in County Kildare will host this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open from 29 August to 1 September 2024 on the magnificent O’Meara parkland course.
Walsh had a successful amateur career which included winning the 2023 NCAA National Golf Championship with her collegiate team, Wake Forest before she turned professional in the summer of 2023.
Her partnership with Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, who were hosts to the 2018 World Team Championship, gives her the benefits of their world-class practice facilities and championship golf courses.
“When I am home from the tour, I have been doing all my practice at Carton House and they have the best facilities in the country,” said Walsh.
“I’m very thankful for their support and proud to represent such an incredible venue out on tour.”
“I cannot wait to play here at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open this coming August.”
“We are delighted to announce Lauren Walsh as our new touring professional,” added Martin Mangan, General Manager of Carton House.
“Lauren is a very talented golfer, and it’s an honor to be able to support and nurture Irish sporting talent, in particular ahead of playing host to the KPMG Women’s Irish Open on our iconic O’Meara Course later this year, which will showcase the talents of some of the game’s best, including Lauren, in this highly-anticipated Ladies European Tour tournament.”
“We are excited to see Lauren partner with Carton House,” said Cian Branagan, CEO of ForeFront Sports.
“The facilities that they provide are outstanding and will be extremely beneficial to her as she continues her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour. This partnership will be a great asset to Lauren in the lead up to the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.”
Walsh also signed up as part of Team Amundi earlier this month, TRhis marks another significant step in her advance within the Women’s game.
