SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh is expected to enjoy its busiest year for sporting events since its renovation, with major fixtures confirmed for Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rugby and Soccer during 2025.
Over 40,000 fans are expected at the stadium this Sunday for the Division 1A National Hurling League final between Cork and Tipperary and the Division 1B National Hurling League final between Waterford and Offaly.
The sell-out event is just one of several significant GAA fixtures confirmed in the Páirc’s calendar this year.
Tipperary and Waterford will return to the stadium on April 27th and May 25th respectively to face Cork during the Munster Hurling Championship, tickets for which go on sale this Wednesday at 12 noon.
Early indications are that these games will also be sell-outs.
A Munster Hurling Final on Saturday, June 6th, may be on the cards, subject to the final pairing.
Meanwhile, if the Cork Senior Footballers are victorious over Limerick this weekend, they will host Kerry on Saturday, April 19th, at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the Munster Football Championship.
In addition, the Cork U20 Hurlers and Footballers will host ‘Home’ games in the Munster Championship, as well as Camogie and Ladies Football championship games.
The stadium will also be showcased further through additional sporting fixtures approved by the GAA’s Central Council. These include the Republic of Ireland versus Slovenia in the Women’s Nations League on June 3rd, the inaugural Cork Super Cup between Cork City FC and Celtic FC on July 8th, and an expected Munster Rugby Champions Cup game in December.
Meanwhile, the sale of 5 and 10-year season tickets has been a major success, with all 2,575 seats now sold out on both Premium and South Stand Lower levels.
“These announcements come on the back of a hectic period with record crowds turning out to see Cork’s hurlers in the National League,” said Kevin O’Donovan, CEO of Cork GAA.
“The stadium is now showing its true potential, with each sell-out event estimated to be worth in the region of €6 million to the local economy.”
“We are very grateful for the support of the GAA community, who helped sell out our Premium Level tickets and the dedicated seating on sale through the South Stand. ”
“Couple that with the business events that are held regularly at the stadium and the significant plans we have for other events in the months ahead, and we can truly see the stadium as the asset to Cork that it is.”
