The Kansas City Chiefs have expanded their international footprint by opening Chiefs House Dublin this weekend, the first major activation in Ireland since the franchise was awarded marketing rights in the country earlier this year.
The event, which runs through Sunday at Murray’s Bar & Grill on O’Connell Street, offers fans live music, panel talks, interactive games, giveaways and appearances by former Chiefs players.
On Sunday night, supporters will be able to watch a live screening of the Chiefs’ game against the Baltimore Ravens. Entry is free, but pre-registration is required.
The initiative is part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program, which grants teams commercial rights in selected international territories. In 2025, the Chiefs secured rights in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain, allowing them to run fan engagement events, sponsorship campaigns and local media partnerships.
“Bringing the Chiefs Kingdom to Dublin is hugely exciting,” said Chiefs President Mark Donovan in announcing the event. “Ireland is a key part of our international strategy and we see a real opportunity to grow the game here.”
The NFL will stage its first regular-season game in Ireland on Sunday afternoon, when the Minnesota Vikings face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Croke Park.
Chiefs executives have confirmed they are eager to follow suit, with the stadium again identified as the most likely venue.
“We want to play a home game here,” Donovan said. “2026 is a realistic target, and we’re working with the league to make it happen.”
The NFL has stepped up its international expansion in recent years, staging games annually in London and Germany and debuting in Brazil in 2024.
The Global Markets Program enables franchises to deepen connections with overseas supporters, establish commercial relationships, and enhance the league’s global presence.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, and Green Bay Packers all have NFL Marketing Rights in Ireland, and will be in the mix to host future games, so long as everything comes out well from this weekend.
