Punchestown is preparing for another bumper Festival week, with advance ticket sales pointing towards crowds of more than 130,000 across the five days from tomorrow, April 28th to Saturday, May 2nd.

The 2026 Festival will feature 40 races and a record prize fund of €3.6 million, with Irish and British racing talent also set to decide the trainer and jockey championship battles.

“World class championship sport remains at the heart of what we do,” said Conor O’Neill, Punchestown CEO, “and alongside this our strategy is to enhance, elevate, and excel in an extremely competitive leisure and entertainment market.”

That entertainment element has become a defining part of the modern Punchestown offer. The Festival now generates an estimated economic impact of more than €70 million, fills hotel rooms across the region, and attracts visitors from as far afield as the USA and Australia.

It has also grown into Ireland’s largest corporate hospitality event, with more than 24,000 guests from 800 companies expected across the week.

“Our hospitality is totally sold out midweek despite expanding capacity by 2,500 seats and introducing the new Horse Walk venue,” O’Neill added. “Saturday has a handful of seats left.”

Alongside the racing, the Southern Enclosure will host the Sky Bar After Party, Pony Club live music stage and the Bollinger Best Dressed Style award. New additions for 2026 include the Kildare Village Grand Pavilion, a Saturday singles event in the Your Friend My Friend Pavilion, mobile DJ sets, an expanded Britvic Family Fun Zone, and new food and drink options throughout the venue.

Organisers are advising racegoers to use public transport where possible, particularly on Festival Friday, with extra local shuttle and regional bus services added for 2026.

The final advance ticket deal closes at midnight on Sunday, April 26th, before premium Festival prices come into effect.

With Championship standard racing, more than 60 British raiders, expanded hospitality and a growing entertainment programme, Punchestown is aiming to build on last year’s record attendance and deliver one of the biggest sporting and social occasions of the Irish year.
