ZuCar has confirmed a long-term extension of its partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, continuing as sponsor of the All-Ireland U-18 Championships and as the LGFA’s Official Performance Partner until 2029.
The renewed agreement keeps ZuCar at the heart of the player pathway, from the next generation competing at minor level through to individual excellence on the biggest days of the TG4 All-Ireland Championships.
ZuCar first came on board with the LGFA in July 2021 as Official Performance Partner, with the relationship extended a year later to include title sponsorship of the All-Ireland U-18 Football Championships.
The latest renewal comes in a busy week for the Association, with the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship reaching the quarter-final stage this weekend and the ZuCar All-Ireland U-18 semi-finals following on Wednesday and Thursday, July 8 and 9.
Focus on the Next Generation
Twelve counties remain in contention across the ZuCar All-Ireland U-18 A, B and C Championships, underlining the importance of a competition that has become a key staging post in the development of future inter-county stars.
The C grade semi-finals will open the programme on Wednesday, July 8, with Armagh facing Leitrim and Limerick taking on Longford.
The A- and B-grade semi-finals follow on Thursday, July 9. Tyrone will play Sligo and Kerry meet Laois in the B competition, while Down face Roscommon and Cork take on Dublin in the A grade.
The three finals will be played on Saturday, July 25, with each game available to view free-to-air via livestream.
Senior Championship Reaches the Sharp End
The announcement also lands as the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship moves into the knockout rounds, with four quarter-finals taking place over the weekend.
Armagh play Kildare at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds on Saturday afternoon, Kerry host Meath at Austin Stack Park, and reigning champions Dublin face Cork at Parnell Park later that evening. Galway and Mayo complete the quarter-final line-up at Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening. All matches will be live on TG4.
That weekend of senior action will also feed into the ongoing race for the ZuCar Golden Boot, awarded to the leading scorer across the TG4 All-Ireland Junior, Intermediate and Senior Championships.
Antrim’s Maria O’Neill currently leads the way on 8-11, two points clear of Derry’s Annie Ní Lochlainn, with the award adding another layer of individual recognition to the closing stages of the Championship.
ZuCar will also continue to oversee the Golden Glove award, recognising a standout moment of goalkeeping excellence during the campaign. Dublin’s Hannah Tyrrell and Roscommon’s Helena Cummins were the 2025 Golden Boot and Golden Glove winners, respectively.
Shared Values and Long-Term Growth
The LGFA and ZuCar marked the renewal at a Croke Park photocall attended by LGFA CEO Lyn Savage, Joe Duffy Group CEO Gavin Hydes on behalf of ZuCar, and inter-county players Anna-Rose Kennedy of Tipperary and Sarah Dillon of Westmeath.
LGFA President Trina Murray said the renewed commitment was a strong endorsement of the Association’s direction of travel and of ZuCar’s role in supporting the game from grassroots through to elite level.
She said the partnership had supported players, clubs and communities across the country, while also backing the next wave of talent through the All-Ireland U-18 Championships.
Gavin Hydes said ZuCar was proud to continue supporting Ladies Gaelic Football and the work being done in communities nationwide.
He said the brand shared the LGFA’s values of hard work, dedication and continuous performance, adding that the partnership reflected ZuCar’s belief in making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
Sport for Business Perspective
This is a strong renewal for the LGFA, not only because of the term through to 2029 but because of where ZuCar’s support sits within the overall structure of the game.
The U-18 Championships are a vital part of the performance pathway, while the Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards give ZuCar visibility at the highest level of the TG4 All-Ireland Championships.
That combination of pathway, performance and profile is a valuable sponsorship mix. It allows the brand to speak to future talent, current stars, families, clubs and communities, while giving the LGFA another long-term commercial partner at a time when the sport continues to grow in participation, visibility and cultural relevance.
With the senior quarter-finals taking place this weekend and the minor semi-finals following next week, the timing of the announcement gives the partnership a natural sporting platform and reinforces ZuCar’s place within the wider story of Ladies Gaelic Football. Hopefully, it will also help to sell more cars.
