League of Ireland supporters now have another way to access domestic football, with LOITV launching on Sky Glass and Sky Stream in the Republic of Ireland.
The move brings live coverage of all three League of Ireland divisions, domestic cup competitions, and selected European fixtures directly into the Sky interface, expanding the reach of a service that has become an increasingly important part of the League’s media offering.
Operated by Premier Sports, LOITV is the League of Ireland’s official streaming platform and carries matches from the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division, SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, and SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.
Its wider rights portfolio also includes the Club Orange Men’s and Women’s FAI Cups, the Men’s and Women’s President’s Cups, the Women’s All-Island Cup and selected European fixtures involving League of Ireland clubs.
Sky customers using Glass or Stream can now access LOITV directly from the Apps rail, giving the platform a more prominent position alongside other sports and entertainment services.
“Football fans want easy access to the teams and competitions they care about most,” said Rory Martin, Director of Strategy and Transformation at Sky.
“Support for the League of Ireland has grown from strength to strength in the past number of years so we’re proud to partner with LOITV and Premier Sports on this.
“While nothing beats getting to your local ground to cheer on your team, with LOITV on Sky Glass and Stream, fans can enjoy comprehensive coverage of the League of Ireland directly through their TVs.”
LOITV remains the only platform streaming games from across all three League of Ireland divisions live and on playback.
SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division matches are produced with a minimum two-camera set-up, while games from the Women’s Premier Division and Men’s First Division are covered with a minimum one-camera production.
Mark Scanlon, League of Ireland Director, said the move reflected the broader momentum around the domestic game.
“The League of Ireland is enjoying unprecedented growth and momentum, and this is illustrated by one of the most exciting SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division title run-ins in years,” he said.
“We’re committed to making our coverage as accessible as possible for supporters.
“Bringing LOITV to Sky Glass and Sky Stream is an important step forward, giving fans a seamless way to watch live matches and catch up on key moments from across all divisions of the Men and Women’s League of Ireland, as well as important domestic and European cup fixtures.”
LOITV is not included in a standard Sky television package; customers need a separate subscription.
Current LOITV options include €9.99 per month on a 12-month plan, €14.99 per month on a flexible monthly plan, a €99 annual pass and a €10.99 24-hour pass.
Sport for Business Perspective
This move matters less for creating new content than for making existing League of Ireland content easier to discover and consume.
One of domestic sport’s traditional challenges has been fragmentation: supporters may know coverage exists, but finding the right app, device, or streaming route can create unnecessary friction.
LOITV is now appearing alongside established sports and entertainment services in a familiar home-screen environment.
The challenge remains to preserve the primacy and atmosphere of live attendance while building a complementary digital audience.
This partnership with Sky is a useful step in that direction.
