Technology plays a part in how the team prepare, how the fans engage and now how the supporters in the ground can order their food and drink.
New app will allow supporters attending Ireland’s home RBS 6 Nations games to pre order food and drink in selected areas of the Aviva Stadium
Rugby fans attending Ireland’s RBS 6 Nations matches against France tomorrow and England in two weeks time will be able to pre order their food and drinks thanks to a new app available at the Aviva Stadium called RapidQ.
Supporters simply need to download RapidQ from the app store on their phones and they can then start ordering their refreshments for collection before kick-off, at half time or after the final whistle.
Once fans have downloaded RapidQ they pay for their order through their credit or debit card and then show staff at the pre-order collection point a code on their phone and walk away with their choices.
RapidQ was has been selected, following trials of a similar system at the stadium last year.
The outlets where the orders can be collected are in the busiest areas of the ground and it will be interesting to see the faces of those queuing when they watch the technical early adopters swanning up to the front of their own line.
“After successful trials at the stadium last year we are delighted to announce our new app, RapidQ, will be a permanent fixture at the stadium going forward including all football and music events,” said Compass Group Ireland’s Catering Operations Manager at the Aviva Stadium, Sean Curtis.
“RapidQ will no doubt enhance the game day experiences throughout the grounds.”
The app is available to download for iPhone and Android Smartphones from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store now.
